David Scott

Former Astronaut Dr David Scott led the Apollo 15 mission, described as "the most complex mission in the history of exploration".

After West Point and Flying School, he spent 4 years as a Fighter Pilot based in Holland. He then studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology before attending Test Pilot School.

David's first mission was with Gemini 8 in 1966, which achieved the first docking in Space under the command of Neil Armstrong. He returned to Space with Apollo 9 in 1969, a mission which tested all the lunar equipment. David then commanded the Apollo 15 Mission, the first scientific exploration of the Moon. This Mission spent three days in Space and included the first motorised journey on the Moon.

After his successful missions to Space, David became Director of the Flight Research Base operating between Houston, Texas and Moscow. His most recent adventure was the setting up of a satellite recovery business, which he sold this year.

David currently lives in London and so is uniquely placed to speak to European corporations. During the early days of the space program there were many challenges to overcome and David speaks about the problems faced, the overall Space Program, the Race to the Moon and now the Future in Space. He is a fascinating motivational speaker and uses wonderful slides to explain his points.

David was also Technical Advisor to the Director of the Film Apollo 13
