Camila has a first class degree in the arts and a post graduate Masters degree in psychotherapy and clinical training, supported by 18 years of psychoanalysis. Her interest is in the application of therapeutic thinking within inner city communities.
Camila describes her work as a vocation. In her early twenties, she worked for Women’s Aid and set up a counselling service for a university in London as well as founding the Place to Be, which is now a national programme offering therapy to children in schools. In her early thirties, Camila founded Kids Company, which offers psycho-social interventions to 11,925 children a year. In her early forties, she guarantees she will not run a camel sanctuary; anything else is possible! In the future, she plans to be reincarnated as a fat goldfish.
Camila is deeply grateful for the numerous awards she has won, but she is too shy to list them.
Camila can make contributions in relation to leadership, the management of disturbed children within challenging inner city communities. She has a special interest in neuroscience and enjoys talking.

“SAFE BY RIGHT – NOT BY CHANCE”
-Very interesting and relates to previous knowledge and reasons behind behaviour. Very inspiring – a great start to the morning – fantastic.
-I have much more understanding, great input and thought provoking. Bought back personal experiences and I have found my place and why I have felt and how I can help in my role.
-Camila presented well and was an interesting person to listen to. She made the talk and diagram of the brain easy to understand. Here personal ideas and workshops/jobs she has done are amazing
